Belarus-Russia-Ukraine children’s festival at Friendship Monument on 1-2 June

GOMEL, 29 May (BelTA) – The International Children’s Festival “Friends, Syabry, Druzi - Together” will take place at the Friendship Monument at the border of three Slavonic countries on 1-2 June, BelTA learnt from head of the department for educational work of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Anna Melnikova.

The forum will get together over 150 children from the regions of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine to mark International Children’s Day. This year the forum will be hosted by Ukraine. A solemn opening ceremony of the festival will take place at the Friendship Monument with a concert and theatrical shows. Then the participants of the forum will meet on the territory of Ukraine. The organizers of the event have prepared numerous intellectual contests, competitions and games for school students. The program of the festival will also include excursions, cultural events and meetings with war veterans.

The international holiday is a traditional and annual event celebrated on the territory of one of the three Slavonic states. Last year the festival was hosted by Gomel Oblast.
