Lukashenko elected chairman of Belarusian People's Congress

As BelTA has reported, one candidate was nominated for the post of chairman and one candidate – for deputy chairman. The Belarusian People's Congress Presidium was voted for or against the list of candidates as a whole.

According to the legislation, the maximum number of delegates to the Belarusian People's Congress is 1,200. More than 700 guests have been invited to the event. Delegates from different regions of the country (representatives of legislative, executive and judicial powers, local councils of deputies, civil society) will gather in Minsk.

Almost 137,000 large families open family capital deposits in Belarus

As of 1 April 2024, a total of 136,502 large families have opened deposit accounts in Belarus under the family capital program, including 82,600 deposit accounts to the total amount of $826 million and 53,800 deposit accounts to the total amount of Br1.36 billion, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian Labor and Social Security Ministry’s press service.

Lukashenko convenes large meeting to discuss manufacturing sector

The meeting has brought together about 300 participants. Among them are senior officials, members of the government, chairmen of the regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, heads of industrial organizations, banks, research centers, heads of administrations of free economic zones.
