As of 1 April 2024, a total of 136,502 large families have opened deposit accounts in Belarus under the family capital program, including 82,600 deposit accounts to the total amount of $826 million and 53,800 deposit accounts to the total amount of Br1.36 billion, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian Labor and Social Security Ministry’s press service.

The meeting has brought together about 300 participants. Among them are senior officials, members of the government, chairmen of the regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, heads of industrial organizations, banks, research centers, heads of administrations of free economic zones.

Apart from that, the list of manufacturers, which goods can be bought with a loan, has been expanded. The loan program for buying Belarusian goods has been extended till the end of 2025.

Annual grasses were planted on 12,900 hectares, which is 7.25% of the plan. Belarus also embarked on planting flax. This crop was sown on the area of 370 hectares, which is 0.75% of the plan.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko invited cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Marina Vasilevskaya to visit him after returning from the space flight. The head of state promised to treat them to his signature salad. On 19 March, the Belarusian president videoconferenced with the cosmonauts who are currently at Baikonur, BelTA has learned.

The nomination of candidates for delegates to the Belarusian People’s Congress will close on 31 March. The elections of delegates from local councils of deputies and civil society will be running from 1 to 10 April.

The women's movement has become a force to be reckoned with in Belarus, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a meeting with activists of the Belarusian Women’s Union in Minsk on 5 March, BelTA has learned.

The CEC chairman noted that the Council of the Republic will also renew its composition. "The House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic need to open the status sessions so that their members enter into their legal rights, because the members of both houses of the parliament are ex officio delegates of the Belarusian People's Congress.

Early voting will take place on 20-24 February. Polling stations will stay open from 12.00 to 19.00, without a lunch break.
