Belarus attends conference on transboundary effects of industrial accidents

MINSK, 3 December (BelTA) – Emergencies Minister of Belarus Vladimir Vashchenko is taking part in the Conference of the Parties to the Industrial Accidents Convention of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus.

“On 2-5 December Vladimir Vashchenko is taking part in a meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UNECE Convention on the Transboundary Effects of Industrial Accidents in Geneva,” the press service said.

The Belarusian official will present its report on the implementation of the Convention in Belarus and hold meetings with UNECE representatives. Vladimir Vashchenko will participate in a seminar on enhancing industrial safety in the ECE region.

Vladimir Vashchenko is also expected to meet with Secretary General of the International Civil Defense Organization Vladimir Kuvshinov to discuss cooperation prospects in prevention and relief of emergency situations.
