Social and economic research centers set up in Belarus’ oblasts, Minsk

MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Social and economic research centers under the Science and Research Institute of Economy of the Economy Ministry are set up in the Belarusian oblasts and the city of Minsk. The Belarus President signed relevant Decree No 605 on several issues regarding the Science and Research Institute of Economy of the Economy Ministry on 25 November, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service. The decision was taken to enhance the quality of the regional research on comprehensive development of the regions, the structure of the industrial, human and other resources on the respective territory. The decree defines the Economy Ministry’s Science and Research Institute of Economy as the main science and research facility providing governmental forecasts and programs on the country’s social and economic development. In order to modernize the work of the Science and Research Institute of Economy and enhance the results of the research the institute is vested with monitoring, generalizing and working out analytical materials on the results of studying the national, regional and world economy, developing scientifically substantiated proposals on efficient and balanced development of the Belarusian economy. The decree will take effect on 1 January 2011.
