Scholarships, money allowances for 757 talented students in Belarus

MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has approved the resolution of the special fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus on the social support of talented pupils and students. In line with the resolution, prizes are given to 757 students, BelTA learned from the presidential press service.

Prizes in the amount from Br400,000 to Br700,000 are bestowed upon six winners of the 2013 nationwide Olympiad of professional excellence among the students of vocational schools specializing in the technical maintenance of cars; 28 winners of the 24th nationwide competition of scientific research in biology and ecology; 30 winners of the 21st nationwide tournament of young physicists; 667 winners of the final stage of the 2013 nationwide school Olympiad. The Br1 million prize is presented to the winner of the nationwide competition Student of the Year 2012. Br2 million prizes are conferred on four winners of the 15th Austrian Young Physicists’ Tournament.

Prizes in the amount from Br4 million to Br5.5 million and lapel badges of the special fund are given to two winners of the 2nd European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad, three winners of the 20th International Conference of Young Scientists in physics, mathematics, informatics, ecology (ICYS), seven winners of the 47th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad and the winner of the 21st International Environmental Project Olympiad INEPO.

Two winners of the 2nd European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad, the winner of the 20th International Conference of Young Scientists in physics, mathematics, informatics, ecology (ICYS), three winners of the 47th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad, the winner of the 7th International Environmental Project Olympiad, the winner of the 21st International Environmental Project Olympiad INEPO received Br400,000 prizes and lapel badges of the fund.

The presidential executive order aims to provide targeted state support to talented school and university students.
