Lukashenko calls on Belarusian people to promote genuine values on Christmas

MINSK, 24 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent his best greetings to all Belarusians celebrating Christmas on 25 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The moral compass of many generations of our ancestors has been shaped under the influence of the Christian faith which embodies the noble ideals of humanism, justice, and mercy,” the message of greetings reads.

Just like centuries ago, the great triumph of the long-awaited holiday is the source of joy and hope; it inspires people to do good deeds. “Responding to this call in terms of the modern civilization, we must join efforts to promote genuine values and traditions in the society, contribute to the development of the relations of peace and good-neighborliness,” the President noted.

The head of state cordially wished all Belarusians celebrating Christmas on 25 December strong health, prosperity and wellbeing. “May your homes be full of comfort and wellbeing, may love and mutual respect reign in your families, may peace and delight fill your souls,” the message of greetings reads.
