Days of Belarusian Culture in Tajikistan in 2015

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – Belarus is expected to hold its Days of Culture in Tajikistan in 2015 and host the return Days of Tajikistan Culture in 2016, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Belarus Kozidavlat Koimdodov told media at the CIS headquarters that played host to an international science-to-practice conference to mark the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of Tajikistan, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat stressed that the relations between Tajikistan and Belarus have been vigorously developing in all areas, including political, economic and cultural sectors. In his words, the year 2014 is rich in various bilateral events.

Kozidavlat Koimdodov noted that with the adoption of a new constitution in 1994 and taking the principles and norms of the main law of the country as a basis, the people of Tajikistan is building a sovereign, democratic, legal and unitary state. The constitution was developed taking into account the world’s best practices. The draft Constitution was submitted to public discussion, and the commission received more than 8,000 proposals from Tajikistan citizens.

The participants of the conference shared opinions regarding various aspects of the constitutional reform, analyzed the lawmaking practices in the post Soviet space during the period of the development of new states, including Tajikistan. Speaking at the event was Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Physical Education, Family and Youth Policy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, head of the working group on cooperation with the Parliament of Tajikistan Alexander Tsetsoko, Tajikistan MP Mehrojiddin Khakimov, representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus, the EurAsEC Court and the Constitutional Court of Belarus.

The conference was organized by the Embassy of Tajikistan in Belarus jointly with the CIS Executive Committee and the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the Belarus President. Partaking in the conference were heads of diplomatic representations accredited in Belarus, the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries, MPs, representatives of the Foreign Ministry, scientists and specialists, and representatives of the Tajik diaspora.
