Belvnesheconombank to raise financing of cultural projects

MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – Belvnesheconombank is going to increase the financing of cultural and historical projects in Belarus, BelTA learned from spokesperson of the bank Lyudmila Sats.

When pursuing the policy of social responsibility of business, Belvnesheconombank does its utmost to preserve and multiply the historical and cultural heritage of Belarus. The bank’s development strategy for 2011-2015 envisages that the support of culture will be the social mission of the bank in the future, according to Lyudmila Sats.

Belvnesheconombank was the general partner of the Kamyanitsa festival. Hence the bank continued to support Belarusian culture. By the end of the year the bank is eager to implement at least three interesting projects.

Belvnesheconombank has been the main partner of the Kamyanitsa folk festival for two years. The festival will take place in the Belarusian Vernacular Architecture and Ethnic Heritage Museum on 3 September.

“We are interested in the unique format of the event which combines authentic folklore and modern Belarusian and foreign music and in the atmosphere of the forum. This project can boast its cultural and historical essence,” Lyudmila Sats said.

According to her, the bank is not indifferent to the problems of restoration of cultural and historical monuments in Belarus. It sponsors events which are of high significance and are intended to spark the interest of Belarusians to cultural and historical heritage. In 2009 Belvnesheconombank bought old books for the Belarusian National History Museum. In 2010 the bank bought a silver medal of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania which dates back to the 14-15th centuries. In 2010 Belvnesheconombank was the general partner of the first Belarusian forum festival Sounds of Spring.

Russia’s Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank) owns about 97.42%, the Minsk City Territorial Fund of State Property – 2.22%.
