Belarusian healthcare considerably improved over the last few years

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – Belarusian healthcare has advanced a lot over the last few years, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the state award ceremony on 5 November. Unique surgeries are performed to transplant organs in Belarus these days. The effectiveness of treatment of many severe diseases is improving. The scale of prevention efforts in the general public grows larger. “I thank you for your dedication to your noble cause because health is immensely valuable for an individual and the society as a whole,” Alexander Lukashenko told medics, the most representative group among the awardees on 5 November. “Our programs and ideas will not be welcomed by the people if they suffer from diseases and pain. Only a healthy and vigorous nation can accomplish great deeds,” believes the Belarus President. Alexander Lukashenko said that a healthy lifestyle is one of the most affordable ways to overcome and prevent various illnesses. It is necessary to promote sports and encourage people to go in for physical training on a large-scale. Alexander Lukashenko said that sport is hugely popular in Belarus. “Every victory, every successful performance of our teams makes millions of Belarusians proud and genuinely interested while young Belarusians are infused with the desire to live up to standards of the winners,” said the President. Alexander Lukashenko said that he was truly grateful to Belarusian sportsmen for the medals and prizes they have won at international competitions and he was grateful to their coaches for training the champions that assert Belarus’ glory as a sport power in the international community. Alexander Lukashenko bestowed an Order of Fatherland, Second Degree, upon sportsmen of the national canoe rowing team Vadim Makhnev and Roman Petrushenko. An Order of Fatherland, Third Degree, was awarded to freestyler Aleksei Grishin. Belarusian tennis player Victoria Ozarenko, biathletes Darya Domracheva, Sergei Novikov and other sportsmen were awarded the title of Merited Sports Master of Belarus. “Health, physical and spiritual perfection mutually complement each other. They are vital for full-fledged and harmonious development of the society and constitute the foundation of civil unity,” said the Belarusian head of state. Alexander Lukashenko believes that it was not accidental that the Belarusian government pays attention to supporting culture and arts even in the most economically challenging times. Alexander Lukashenko said he was grateful to those who have dedicated their lives to preserving and multiplying the rich spiritual essence of the Belarusian nation. “A talent is always multifaceted. If a person is gifted, he or she is gifted in everything. The same is true in regard to the nation and the country,” said the head of state as he presented state awards upon outstanding scientists and talented specialists. The President remarked that Belarus has always prided itself on intellectual research. In his opinion, research efforts are particularly important today when innovation-driven development of the national economy is a priority. Alexander Lukashenko bestowed state awards upon the military who serve to secure peace, order and security in the country. According to the President, the national security is the foundation of a strong and effective state. Economic development, spiritual progress as well as social and political stability stem from national security. “I thank you for your professional mastery, exemplary service that guarantees peace in the native land and the integrity of our borders, that therefore guarantees successful development of Belarus, a peace-loving country that focuses only on creative labor,” stressed the President.
