Belarus’ rising export potential underlined

MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – In conditions of tough competition Belarus has managed to preserve and increase its export potential, BelTA learned from Ruslan Yesin, Deputy Director of the Foreign Economic Activities Department of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the 8th German Economy Day in Belarus on 12 November.

The official said: “In conditions of tough competition we have managed to preserve and increase the export potential. We have the necessary instruments for implementing foreign economic policy. We have such export support measures as leasing, insurance, financial support and other ones. Certainly, there are difficulties, too. For instance, there are some problems with the operation of marketing services. The effort to hire highly qualified managers for leading projects is weak. There have been issues with online trade organization.”

According to the representative of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, despite the certain hindrances the special development model already allows Belarus to accomplish its goals. In January-September 2015 Belarus’ export to Africa went up by $20 million while export to Asia (excluding the CIS) rose by $300 million. Belarus’ export to Australia, Oceania, and Latin America increased.

The German Economy Day in Belarus took place in Minsk on 12 November. The discussion was focused on the current state and prospects of Belarus-Germany economic cooperation. During the forum representatives of the private sector and the political sphere of the two countries talked over forecasts of Belarus’ economic development, promising economy branches and business models for partnerships.
