Over 80% of Mogilev oblast industrial enterprises increase output in January-August

In January-August 2008 180 industrial enterprises of the Mogilev oblast or 82.6% of the total number increased their output, BelTA learnt from the Economy Committee of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee. Their output accounted for almost 90% of the oblast’s turnout. 17 companies increased their output by 5% at most, 27 companies — 5-10%, 26 companies — 10-15%, 38 companies — 15-20%, 72 companies — 20% and more. In the eight months the planned output figures were secured for 204 out of 320 most important industrial products. In January-August 2008 there were 85 state-run enterprises (39% of the total), which turned out 34.1% of the overall industrial production. Private enterprises with a share of state capital (85 enterprises) turned out 57.6% of the total industrial production. There are 20 joint-stock companies with a share of municipal capital, which turned out 4.2% of the oblast’s output. Over the eight months of the year mechanical engineering and metalworking enterprises increased their output by 26.6% up on the same period of last year, timber, woodworking, pulp and paper enterprises — 21.8%, chemical and petrochemical enterprises — 9.6%, chemical enterprises — 18.7%, petrochemical enterprises — 4.6%, construction materials producers — 21.5%, food companies — 16%, light industry companies — 7.6%. In particular, the production of mineral fertiliser spreaders increased by 380%, organic fertiliser spreaders — 90%, tractor trailers — 60%, truck cranes — 27.5%, elevators — by one third, polyester base used to manufacture roofing materials — 24.4%, fibreboards — 21.5%, parquet — 75%, cement — 16.2%, roofing slates — almost 20%, fat cheese — almost 30%, butter — 27.5%, sausage goods — 24.2%, groats — 70%, apparel — 11.6%. New products accounted for 23.1% of the oblast’s industrial output in January-August 2008. Mechanical engineering and metalworking companies substantially increased the production of new goods — 42.9% of the total industrial output. New products accounted for 31.4% of the total output in construction materials industry, 29.8% — glass and whiteware industry, 22.6% — chemical and petrochemical industry, said the source.
