Leonid Yakubovich invited to Animayevka 2014 festival as guest of honor

Leonid Yakubovich, host of a well-known Russian TV show Pole Chudes (Field of Wonders), will attend the 17th international festival of animated films Animayevka 2014 as a guest of honor. The festival will take place in Mogilev on 17-21 September, BelTA learnt from the administration of the Mogilev state company Kinovideoprokat.

Leonid Yakubovich has voiced Bazilio the Cat in a full-length animated film, Buratino is Coming Back. The animation will premiere in Mogilev on 18 September in the attendance of Leonid Yakubovich and script writer, actor and poet Vadim Zhuk. The prominent TV host also plans to meet with the Belarusian audience.

Apart from Leonid Yakubovich attending the festival will be other celebrities. Children and guests of the festival will meet with pioneers of the national animation Vladimir Golikov and Marta Lubyanikova, author of the international social project Cradle Songs for the Whole Family Natalia Faustova, Honored Figure of Art of Russia Grigory Gladkov, actor of Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater Oleg Garbuz, animated and fiction film producers of the Belarusfilm Studio Yelena Turova, Alexander Lenkin, Igor Volchek, Tatiana Kublitskaya, Tatarmultfilm Studio Director Sergei Kiatrov. All of them will grace the red carpet on the forum opening.

The competition program of the forum will comprise 85 animated films from 28 countries. The program of the forum will include the screening of new episodes of the Masha and the Bear animated series, theatrical performances with the participation of the main heroes of the Kalykhanka TV children’s show, demonstration of animated movies on a big screen at the Square of Stars in the Mogilev downtown, an exhibition of children’s paintings and arts and crafts works, My Favorite Animated Film, the children’s animated film contest “I am not a magician yet, I am just learning…”.

The festival will host its first exposition of the works of the jury and guests of the festival. The exposition will features the works of artists and animators Natalia Kananovich and Anna Silivonchik (Belarus), Igor Khilov and Alexei Pochivalov (Russia), Zdenek Miler and Jiri Trnka (Czech Republic).

Some of the events of the festival will be held in regional centers. Thus, the oblast cinema houses will play host to the program, World Animation for Children, and master classes on the organization of children’s studios. Partaking in the program will be producers-animators of Belarus, Russia, China, Germany, Moldova, Poland, France.

This year the forum will feature 159 films from 39 countries. Among them is Belarus, Russia, Austria, Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, the UK, Germany, Georgia, Denmark, India. First steps in the festival will be made by Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, Iraq, Columbia, Singapore, Syria, the U.S., Croatia, Sweden, Slovenia, and the Netherlands. Belarus will present its ten animated films, including seven pictures made at the Belarusfilm Studio.
