Interstate mini-football and volleyball among school students opens in Shklov

The 19th international junior mini-football and volleyball tournament in tribute to the memory of the veterans of the Afghan war opened in Shklov on February 8. Competing in the event are 19 teams (10 in the mini-football tournament and 9 -volleyball) from Belarus and Russia. Today the young athletes visited the Alley of the Heroes and laid flowers at the graves of the veterans of the Afghan war, the chairman of the Mogilev oblast public association “Belarusian union of veterans of Afghan war”, Vladimir Vasilenko, told BelTA. The tournament is part of the programme of the events dedicated to the Day of Memory of Veterans of the Afghan war. Meetings with veterans, flower laying ceremonies will be held in all regions and towns of the Mogilev oblast.
