German business seeks cooperation with FEZ Mogilev

MOGILEV, 5 November (BelTA) – German business is interested in developing cooperation with the companies of FEZ Mogilev and implementation of joint investment projects, Deputy Head of the FEZ Administration Irina Davydenko told BelTA as she commented on the results of the business matchmaking session between German and Mogilev businessmen.

Today’s talks in the oblast center have determined two main areas in developing cooperation between businessmen of Mogilev and Germany. These are woodworking and manufacturing of plastic products. For example, Omsk Carbon Mogilev, a resident of FEZ Mogilev, needs plastic trays for its products, and these are reasonably large volumes. Thus, there is an opportunity of setting up a specialized production of such items on the Mogilev land with the participation of the German capital.

“Such events will provide an opportunity to get familiar with representatives of business circles, scale ones opportunities and interests, establish business contacts. It is of great significance for the development of economic cooperation both at the national and regional levels. The result is evident here. For instance, only FEZ Mogilev is home to six successfully performing companies with the Austrian and German capital. Their declared volume of investments exceeds ?360 million,” noted Irina Davydenko.

On 5 November German guests, and these are representatives of eight companies from the Free State of Thuringia, got familiar with the economic and investment potential of Mogilev Oblast, held talks with representatives of the Mogilev business and visited big industrial companies in FEZ Mogilev.

The organizers of the event included the Mogilev Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Erfurt, Germany and FEZ Mogilev.
