Feed stock area of Shklov newspaper mill identified

The spruce timber feed stock area of the Shklov newspaper mill has been identified, Deputy Forestry Minister of Belarus Yuri Nazarov told BelTA. Forestry companies of the Vitebsk, Mogilev and Minsk oblasts have been chosen as supplies as the main fur-tree resources are concentrated in these regions. According to Yuri Nazarov, the government supply order will prove beneficial for the chosen suppliers. The mill has signed contracts for 120,000 m3 plank timber and 30,000 m3 paper wood. “It will be the wood of high quality. For example, plank timber range from 14 to 24cm in diameter, and paper wood – from 6 to 24 cm”, he said. Though the supply schedule has been approved, the Shklov mill has requested to suspend the deliveries for a while. “Forestry companies are interested in a more rhythmic work”, deputy Minister noted. Yuri Nazarov said, on February 20 special workshop will be organized in the Mogilev forestry company for the supplies of the Shklov newspaper mill. The workshop will focus on the issues related to cutting, registration, sizing and transportation of spruce timber.
