Belarus, Moldova expand regional cooperation

CHISINAU, 13 July (BelTA) – The administration of Bykhov District, Mogilev Oblast and the administration of Ceadir-Lunga District, Moldova’s Gagauzia have signed a protocol of intent, BelTA learned from representatives of the Gagauzian government. The document was signed in the village of Copceac.

The protocol of intent was signed by Deputy Chairman of the Bykhov District Executive Committee Vladislav Gribanov and head of the Ceadir-Lunga District administration Valentina Kara. Attending the ceremony were head of the Gagauzia administration Irina Vlah and head of the Gagauzian parliament Dmitry Konstantinov.

The town of Bykhov, Mogilev Oblast and the village of Copceac, Gagauzia also signed a protocol of intent. The document was signed by Deputy Chairman of the Bykhov District Executive Committee Vladislav Gribanov and Copceac Mayor Oleg Garizan.

Head of the Gagauzia administration Irina Vlah noted the importance of the agreement between Bykhov District and Ceadir-Lunga District. “The establishment of regional cooperation is very important for our countries,” she stressed.

The agreement on trade, economic, and cultural cooperation between Gagauzia and Mogilev Oblast has been in effect since 2000.

The Belarusian delegation was in the village of Copceac on a visit on 9-13 July to take part in sport events in memory of the peacekeeping soldier Boris Yanakoglo.
