The small business of the Mogilev oblast generated 20.8% of tax revenues in the Mogilev oblast in 2007, BelTA learnt from the economy committee of the oblast executive committee. Tax revenues to the oblast budget increased by Br76.9 billion, or 23.8% as against 2006.
The Mogilev oblast allocated Br421.7 million to the state programme for small business support in 2007. Small business created 11,745 working places, 65% of the total amount of the workplaces set up in the oblast.

A nationwide cultural action “We are Belarusians” will be held in Belarus in 2008, chief of the Culture Department of the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Kozlovich told BelTA.

In 2008, Mogilevliftmash and OOO Karat-Liftcomplex (Vyshgorod, Ukraine) intend to produce and supply to Ukraine 1 thousand elevators, BelTA learnt from director general of Mogilevliftmash Piotr Rudnik.

In 2008 the Mogilev oblast will provide gas supply to 11 agro-towns. The local authorities allocated Br8.4 billion worth of investments to build 80 kilometres of the gas supply pipeline network for this purpose.

In 2007 the Mogilev oblast increased the industrial output by 13.6% over 2006, BelTA learned from the Economy Committee of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee.
The output of consumer goods went up by 9.3% last year. Capital investments surged by 24.1%, exports – by 21.1%, paid services - 12.8%. More than 432,000 m2 of housing were constructed in the region. The Mogilev oblast reduced energy consumption by 14.1%.

On January 12, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky presented the Mogilev oblast authorities with the State Honorary Banner of the Republic of Belarus in recognition of great economic achievements and in view of the 70th jubilee of the oblast.
