The spruce timber feed stock area of the Shklov newspaper mill has been identified, Deputy Forestry Minister of Belarus Yuri Nazarov told BelTA.
Forestry companies of the Vitebsk, Mogilev and Minsk oblasts have been chosen as supplies as the main fur-tree resources are concentrated in these regions. According to Yuri Nazarov, the government supply order will prove beneficial for the chosen suppliers.

In 2007, the forestry companies of the Mogilev production forestry association exported products worth of $23.8 million, or 47.4% up over 2006, deputy general director oft eh association Nikolai Domnenkov told BelTA.

The Mogilev Automobile Plant named after Kirov has assembled a prototype model of an underground bus able to carry 17 people, the company’s deputy chief designer Valery Peklin told BelTA.
The bus is supposed to deliver miners through narrow tunnels, travelling up to 10 km at 35 km/h. The bus is powered by a German engine and uses foreign-made hydraulics.
