Mogilev oblast, Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship interested in tighter cooperation

WARSAW, April 20 (BelTA) – A delegation of the Mogilev oblast led by Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee Valery Malashko is taking part in the 16th international economic forum in the city of Torun in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship of Poland. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Poland Viktor Gaisenok is also taking part in the forum, BelTA learnt from Consul General of Belarus in Gdansk Ruslan Yesin. The Mogilev oblast administration and the Consulate General in Gdansk are working hard to expand cooperation with the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship. Along with participating in the forum and demonstrating the economic and investment potential of the Mogilev oblast the Belarusian delegation held negotiations with the administration of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship, which is a partner of the Belarusian region. The sides confirmed mutual interest in building up the interregional cooperation and implementation of joint projects. The Belarusian delegation visited the Pomorskie special economic zone, which is one of the largest special economic zones in Poland. Bobruisk town mayor Dmitry Bonokhov is expected to meet with Torun mayor Michal Zaleski. The negotiations will focus on discussing a plan of joint work and cooperation between the towns, which are potential partners. The Torun economic forum has gathered politicians and specialists from Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Slovakia and other countries of Central and Eastern Europe. European Union Commissioner for Regional Policy Danuta Hubner is taking part in the forum along with Poland Economy Minister Waldemar Pawlak, other members of the Poland government.
