Lukashenko: Good weather promises bumper harvest to Belarus

SHKLOV DISTRICT, 5 August (BelTA) – Good weather gives a chance to Belarusian farmers to reap bumper harvest, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during an informal meeting with the mass media of the Mogilev and Vitebsk oblasts in Alexandria agrotown on 5 August, BelTA has learnt.

“We have perfect weather for harvesting. It cannot be better,” the President underlined. He noted that over half of the crops, almost 60%, had already been harvested. “If such weather stays for at least another week, we will reap bumper harvest of cereal grains,” the head of state said.

Alexander Lukashenko pointed to the high quality of grain and the volume of harvest. “This includes the one million tonnes of wheat we have always bought. We have grown it on our own,” the President stated. He praised the great contribution of scientists and agricultural specialists. “Good job, well-done,” the head of state concluded.
