Lukashenko: Even in crisis Belarus can develop world-class equipment

SHKLOV DISTRICT, 8 August (BelTA) – Even in the most difficult period for the country Belarusians can work and develop new world-class equipment, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko told media in the agro-town of Alexandria on 5 August.

The head of state praised a new model of Gomselmash’s grain harvester Polesie GS-16 that was tested afield at the Alexandriyskoye agricultural company. “Not only agrarians but everyone should understand that even in the most difficult times we can work and develop such masterpieces. It is hard but we can do it,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

Summarizing the results of his trip to the Belarusian regions, the President noted that his visits have become more thematic. “Harvesting campaign is a background. I am currently dealing with concrete issues of regions and companies development,” the President said. He cited as an example the regions he visited during the last three days. “The topical issue for Gorki was personnel and its training prospects. The most difficult issue here is personnel training since the region legs behind in all parameters. Therefore, the modernization of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy in Gorki is of top priority today,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

According to the President, a trip to Orsha District was needed to look into a possibility of making it a basic region for developing high technologies in agricultural production in Vitebsk Oblast. Orsha District should become the same exemplary area as Shklov District in Mogilev Oblast, Mozyr District in Gomel Oblast, Kobrin and Brest Districts in Brest Oblast.
