In 2008 Mogilev oblast to provide gas supply to 11 agro-towns

In 2008 the Mogilev oblast will provide gas supply to 11 agro-towns. The local authorities allocated Br8.4 billion worth of investments to build 80 kilometres of the gas supply pipeline network for this purpose. As BelTA learnt from the production republican unitary enterprise Mogilevoblgaz, gas supply will be provided to the agro-towns in line with the governmental village revival programme for 2005-2010, which provides for developing the engineering infrastructure of 202 big settlements (agro-towns). Some 52 of them have already been provided with gas. The programme also allows for building 704,2 kilometres of the gas supply pipeline network from the existing gas stations and providing gas supply to 77 agro-towns more. Some Br49 billion will be allocated for this purpose. According to Mogilevoblgaz specialists, over the past three years the company has done a lot to provide gas supply to the houses located in four contaminated regions suffered in the result of the Chernobyl catastrophe. Some 282,5 kilometres of gas pipes (including 67 kilometres in the rural area) were laid and 28 gas control units were built in the regional centres and villages of the Bykhov, Krasnopolje, Slavgorod and Cherikov regions. Over the period in review, gas supply was provided to 4294 houses.
