Belarusian, German twin-towns to meet in Mogilev in October

MINSK, June 18 (BelTA) – The seventh meeting between twin-towns of Belarus and Germany will take place in Mogilev in October 2009. The event will highlight the prospects of the economic, sci-tech cooperation and tourism development, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Germany Vladimir Skvortsov told BelTA. According to the Ambassador, twin-town links are highly essential in the Belarusian-German relations and play an important role in their sustainable development. A considerable number of the Belarusian and German towns take part in the movement, with partnership agreements signed between many of them. The Ambassador stressed that the two countries have a lot of areas for cooperation. Among them is culture (including the exchange of artistic companies and organization of exhibitions), youth contacts, the exchange of experience between the utilities services, economic cooperation, mitigation of the Chernobyl consequences.
