Belarus’ first online oblast investment map presented in Mogilev

MOGILEV, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarus’ first online oblast investment map was presented at the session of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee held on 27 March to discuss investment matters, BelTA has learned.

According to Oleg Buyanov, Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, the map has been created by the oblast administration in association with the Economic Informatics Chair of the Mogilev-based Belarusian-Russian University.

The website investmogilev.by presents information about Mogilev Oblast’s investment potential in the form of the oblast map. Every district and town contains information about its demographic state, agriculture, production sector, and private business. The map lists accomplished projects, the land plots that can be provided via investment contracts and the buildings and installations, which are in use. The data on available land plots contains their location, the size, the price, proximity to other installations, the available infrastructure, encumbrance, and land plot allocation terms.

The website uses satellite imagery to allow users to study specific investment sites, including the state of the roads in the immediate vicinity, the number of populated localities, water reservoirs and so on. The main purpose of the project is to enable free access for visitors to examine peculiarities of each investment site in any part of the oblast, noted Oleg Buyanov. Potential investors will be able to access the website to choose and apply for a specific investment site. The potential investor will be emailed the package of documents required to sign an investment contract. The investor's contact details will then be stored by the investment and innovations agency for the sides to cooperate tightly.

For now the website is operating in test mode, with information about investment sites and facilities being added. The website will be fully functional and will offer the translation of any information into English before October 2014 when the Mogilev Oblast International Investment Forum is supposed to take place. In the near future the website will list contact details of the organizations that take care of the preparation of documents for the sake of allowing potential investors to get in touch and get any kinds of consultations.
