m@rt. contact holds pride of place in festival movement in Belarus, Latushko says
MOGILEV, 22 March (BelTA) – The International Youth Theater Forum m@rt. contact has earned its pride of place in the festival movement in Belarus, Culture Minister of Belarus Pavel Latushko said at the opening ceremony of the festival on 21 March. According to the minister, it is very important that this festival is held regularly, for the seventh consecutive year. It is known not only in Belarus but also abroad. The festival movement in the country is growing stronger: eight international theater forums are held in the country. Several new festivals have appeared recently. The biggest festivals are Panorama, Belaya Vezha. М@rt. contact has earned its pride of place in the festival movement. Pavel Latushko noted the importance that this theater festival targets young people. It is encouraging that young people are interested in the theater, which embraces different areas of art. Partaking in the forum are 17 theaters from eight countries. Modern productions for and about the youth will be presented at the best concert venues of Mogilev by Belarus, Poland, Russia, Israel, Ukraine, Slovenia, Lithuania, and Germany. The international theater forum was first held in 2006. For the time being it has developed into one of the most significant and anticipated cultural events in the Belarusian theatrical world. Since its start theater amateurs have seen 75 plays from nine countries including Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Kazakhstan, and Bulgaria. Performances have been attended by more than 27,000 people.БЕЛТА
