Mogilev oblast, Kujawsko-Pomorze province sign cooperation agreement

MOGILEV, May 20 (BelTA) – The Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee and the Kujawsko-Pomorze province of Poland signed the memorandum on cooperation in sport, tourism and youth organizations. The Polish delegation is in the Mogilev oblast on a three-day visit. Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee Piotr Rudnik had a meeting with Vice-Marshall of the Kujawsko-Pomorze province Makej Eskard. According to Makej Eskard, the main goal of the visit of the Polish delegation to Belarus is to get familiar with the tourist potential of the Mogilev oblast. “Our regions may present a lot to each other. We intend to get familiar with the tourist facilities of the Mogilev oblast to promote them in Poland,” he said. The Polish delegation plans to visit the Mogilev State University, the Mogilev Zoo and the Buinichi ethnographic village. On May 21, the guests will get familiar with the tourist facilities of Bobruisk. On May 22, the Polish delegation will attend a concert of the Mogilev folk and amateur groups which will be held in the Palace of the Republic in Minsk. The concert will be timed to the 65th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders. The Mogilev oblast and the Wloclawek province of Poland (Kujawsko-Pomorze province today) signed their first cooperation agreement in 1997. At present, the sides are discussing the cooperation programme for 2009-2010. The programme is expected to be signed during a visit of a delegation of the Mogilev oblast to Torun in June this year.
