Domanevsky: Mogilev Oblast has great potential

MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – Mogilev Oblast has considerable development reserves, Mogilev Oblast Governor Vladimir Domanevsky said at the extraordinary session of the Mogilev Oblast Council of Deputies on 29 December, BelTA has learned.

The Mogilev Oblast Council of Deputies approved Vladimir Domanevsky as Mogilev Oblast Governor on 28 December. He received unanimous support of the deputies.

Vladimir Domanevsky thanked the Council of Deputies for their trust and noted that the year 2015 will crown the five-year period in Belarus. The power vertical and the deputies should unite efforts to fulfill the obligations assumed by the region. “We should analyze, without delay, the economic situation and to identify the growth reserves. These reserves are huge in Mogilev Oblast and we should make the most of them,” he said.

According to Vladimir Domanevsky, external factors have a considerable impact on the economic situation of the country and the region, as the Belarusian economy is open and integrated into the global economy. The developments on the consumer market at the end of the outgoing year should be thoroughly analyzed and the action plan should be adjusted to mitigate the consequences. At the same time, Mogilev Oblast should make the most of its geographic location near the Russian border.

Speaking about human resources, the Mogilev Oblast Governor noted that a gradual and well-balanced personnel rotation will follow. “In the near future, we will see who is who and how they cope with their duties, and will make final decisions on who will stay with us in 2015. I believe that we will find common ground with many of them. I approach personnel decisions very carefully,” Vladimir Domanevsky said.
