Belarusian Mogotex eager to penetrate Latin America market
MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian company OAO Mogotex will take part in the tender for manufacturing uniforms for the Defense Ministry of Chile, the company’s Director General Viktor Matiyevich told BelTA.
The Mogotex products will be presented by a Chilean dealer that supplies merchandise to the defense ministries and police of Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia and a number of other Latin America countries. The uniform samples provided by the Belarusian company are compliant with all the necessary standards. Chilean specialists have already praised the high quality of the merchandise. “Our products will compete with bids submitted by Chinese companies and a number of other leading foreign manufacturers, therefore, winning the tender will be very important for penetrating and securing our grasp of new markets,” stressed the Director General.
In his words, the Chilean company that Mogotex cooperates with to sell and promote its merchandise has been operating on the market for 80 years already and has its own manufacturing enterprises and labs. “It is not just a mediator. It is our partner, a participant involved in the development of products for this region. They have been working with China up till now. Now they are focusing on Mogotex, on high quality, logistics, and new emerging prospects,” noted Viktor Matiyevich. If the tender goes well, then Chilean specialists will arrive in Mogilev in the second half of January 2015 for the sake of getting familiar with the Mogilev enterprise, assessing the possibilities and determining avenues for future cooperation development.
Mogotex already has a program for quite vigorous promotion of its products in Chile and other Latin America countries. “It is a very important project for us and another step for diversifying our target markets. If we win the tender in Chile and there are reasons to believe we can do it, we will get quite a large order for 2015,” the Mogotex Director General was confident.
Founded in 1973, Mogotex was reincorporated as a public joint-stock company (OAO) in 2000. It is a major manufacturer of textile products in Belarus and the CIS states.
