Call for tighter cooperation between businessmen of Belarus, Turkmenistan
MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – Businessmen of Belarus and Turkmenistan should establish tighter cooperation for the sake of actively promoting their products to the markets of the two countries, BelTA learned from Vice Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin on 9 October before the meeting with heads of Belarusian and Turkmen business unions.
“Our government agencies have maintained tight cooperation for a long time already while work has yet to be done with regard to cooperation between business circles and private companies,” noted Anatoly Kalinin. In his words, the meeting was organized with that goal in mind. “We decided to gather representatives of the Belarusian and Turkmen business communities today. We would like to build a system of relations that will give us more opportunities for promoting our merchandise and services to the markets of Belarus and Turkmenistan without mediators, directly from manufacturers,” explained the Vice Prime Minister.
A fair is supposed to take place in Turkmenistan on 12 December 2014 to present a wide choice of Belarusian products. “The business circles will be able to combine efforts and use this soil to grow joint manufacturing enterprises that will benefit the economies of our countries,” stated the Vice Prime Minister.
In his words, Belarus-Turkmenistan trade increased by five times in the last 4.5-5 years. “The pace and the dynamics deserve respect. During the current visit of the Turkmenistan president to Belarus the two heads of state discussed new promising avenues of cooperation among other things. In particular, the Turkmen side will invest in the construction of a hall of residence for students, a sport facility, a hall of residence or a residential building for Turkmen scientists that will closely cooperate with Belarusian scientists in the area of nano and biotechnologies,” noted Anatoly Kalinin.
